Once a brand or conglomerate dominates an industry, what are the dynamics that will drive it away? Unless the industry itself disappears, it'll either stay dominant, or be acquired by another giant, which still feeds into the conglomerate cycle.

Why would the world want to lose the efficiencies built by the company just so that it's a smaller company?
